Welcome to our new blog! Subscribe to our blog and keep up with the ongoings of Heritage Baptist Church.
Just a note to let you know that we had some difficulty in the past with our web and our contact box. It seems to be working now and we do apologize for the time we possibly did not receive anything so we were not able to respond. Hopefully we will not have anymore trouble. Thanks Pastor Young
What a start for the year. We are having our meeting focusing on Missions. We are looking forward to a few days reflecting on what God would have us give towards missions this year. Come and join us each evening as we are challenged from God's Word. Learn about Faith Promise Giving. We will be meeting Wednesday through Friday at 7:30 pm and on Saturday at 6:30 for fellowship and food and God's Word. Sunday morning we will be finishing up with God's Word and making our commitments. Come join us and see what it is all about.
We are about to start a new year and have an opportunity to see greater things. Do you have a vision for this next year? I believe we at Heritage are going to have a great year. We are moving into new and greater opportunities in the Lord's work because we will no longer be sharing our time between the secular job and God's Church. Some of the things We will be sharing with our people on Saturday evening (New Years Eve) and Sunday Will help us all to catch a vision of what God has in store for this next year. I know personally the changes will enable me to help others on a regular basis to better understand the God we serve and how we can experience a more fulfilled life. There is no doubt in my mind that people need the individual attention and encouragement to know God in a greater way , be strengthened spiritually, and know and walk in God's will. Come and be with us as we step into a new year. Get a vision for what God has for you this next year.
Yes we all remember the early years when we were growing up that our parents would find that we were misbehaving and they would usually give us a warning. As we grew older we would find ourselves in disobedience again, we would hear words of warning and because we were taught that words of those above us (authority) were to be obeyed we would stand corrected and change directions. Most times in life that is enough and we strive to do better. I am sure when stopped while driving we would all rather receive a warning and hear those kind words "have a good day". Usually that is enough to move us to a more obedient drive.
All of these and many other warnings are there for our good, safety, and benefit. In God's Word we find many warnings and commands that are there for our good, safety and benefit, but also because we need them. We came into this world as sinners and we learn quickly that we naturally sin. I am thankful for all the warnings and commands, I am most thankful we are told we are sinners and must repent and believe on Christ or be forever separated from God, who loves us and gave his only begotten son so we could have forgiveness of sin. God loves us that much to tell us the truth. Next time you receive a warning, think about God's Word. Judgement will come. Are you ready (forgiven)? Come join us for more of God's Word.
Just want to thank God for his goodness to us - undeserved but yet extended. He is so good to us that it should encourage all of us to give thanks and praise.
Can't forget about his forgiveness for our sin - it is wonderful that he would and could extend his forgiveness - but you know it is only because of the blood of his son Jesus who willingly gave himself for us at the cross. He shed his blood for us.
One last thing before I go - What wonderful grace -can't say it enough.
Come join us Sunday as we celebrate another week of God's goodness , forgiveness and grace. Only God can bring lasting healing to individuals such as we. I thank God for his healing and grace.
Got to go share somewhere else.
What a mighty God we serve. I here so much of the great things God is doing around the world. God is using missionaries all around the world. We are hearing great news of souls being saved and churches being established. It may seem as if we are in dark days, but seems it is opportunity to shine. Let the church be the church and let us do what God has put us here for. Thank God for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and God 's wonderful plan. May we use these end times to be more zealous and show the world "the way". Hope to see you in church Sunday as we have Brother Terry Woodside giving us an update of the work and challenging us with God's Word.
We do live in a day when many people are what I refer to as wandering. It seems like they are ?looking for something but aren't always biblical in what they seek. many wander from place to place looking for what just feels right or may fit what they assume they need. They have gone round and round seeking that place. I encourage those wandering to step out in faith. Remember God's wandered 40 years after their unbelief and a generation passed away before they got back to enter the land God had for them. Why not step out in faith and trust God to provide for you and your family. There are many Bible preaching Churches that are proclaiming the Word of God (yes there is the Word of God), proper in doctrine, sending missionaries around the world, and God honoring music. Imagine if God's people would have trusted God? Even so, what if many today trusted God - Maybe die to self and seek God's will? Think God can get you to the right place? , feed and grow you in grace?, and just maybe show you his will in using you to be a blessing to others? Just a few thoughts for those that seem to be looking for what seems to be more like entertainment than God like. God Bless.
Today is here.
What an opportunity! Another day to live for Jesus. Let us make use of it.
We've had some good services and looking forward to what God has for us. We enjoyed the Family Conference last week end and believe God will use it in many lives.
Time clock changes this weekend so get ready so it doesn't catch you off guard.
January went by fast and our missions meeting went by just as fast. We were so blessed by the testimonies from many who saw God work though Faith Promise Giving. We are looking forward to what he wants to do this year. Many have gotten envolved and we are excited to see faith exercised.
God has given us some wonderful services and many are seeing that it all about Him not us. We are to be used by him. February is now on us and we will be learning more about how much he loves us and how we are to love him and appreciate all that he is.
Good Morning and Happy New Year
That is just what it is, a time to look back on things you cannot change but also to look ahead to a new year. A new year can be a time to make changes or follow through on those you were already working on.
God , Family , Country
Yes priorities do matter. It is like one thing can impact the other, so all are important. If there was one that is more important than any of the others I would say it it how we relate to God. How we see him as creator of all , over all that we know. This blog is too short to elaborate. Have you come to him through the only way, Jesus the son of God that died for the sins of the world?
Maybe coming to church (a bible preaching church) has not been a priority to you, it should be. God doesn't want you to be just religious, but come to the truth of the gospel (God's great plan of redemption)
Maybe make a change and follow through with taking that first step. See you in church Sunday morning 10 o'clock. Start with God.
As the holidays arrive, it is so easy to get distracted. There are a lot of things going on and all pulling for our attention. Let us keep in mind what these holidays celebrate and let our focus be on God and his goodness to us. We are so blessed as a nation in so many ways. Take time for others and thank God for his goodness and grace. Let's not let the distractions keep us from our fellowship with him. See you in church.
We are looking forward to this Weekend. We Are making preparation for our recognition of fifty years of ministry we will recognize next weekend on Sat. and Sunday Sept 26 and 27. The Church has had many years preaching the Word of God and seen many people come to Christ. It has been a joy to see God work in so many lives through the years. God has blessed and taken care of the church these numerous years and we had the joy of seeing God work in such a diverse people. People from all walks of life have ventured through but not all staying in our area. It has always been a ministry where people come, grow, and many times God moves them to another area where he chooses to use them. It always gives me joy to hear from someone wo passed though and writes us to let us know what God is doing with them now.
We will be gathering for our monthly family night on Saturday Sept 26 at 5:30 for food, fellowship and reflect on our past history. Bro. Townsend and Judy will be with us for the weekend. They were the ones that God used to establish this Bible preaching church and served here twenty four years, then in Montana, and now in Ga. After Bro. Townsend, I have had the joy of serving here twenty six years.
We will also be celebrating on Sunday the 27th in the morning and evening services. After the morning service we will be baptizing recently saved. We are looking for a full day.
My My My How the years go by.
We had two more families join last Sunday - What a blessing - God Is SO Good.
Hope to see you this Sunday.
May Is a special month for us and we are looking forward to it. We started with the good news that one of our members was finally home from the hospital. After a long stay he is finally able to be at home. What a blessing to the family.
We had a wonderful Sunday morning as another family of four joined today and looks like more to come. This month is special in many ways. Mother's Day is next week and we sure do thank God for mothers. We will be recognizing all mothers but encouraging all of our ladies, young amd older. What a joy that God made the church that all work together. The ladies will also be having a Mother / Daughter Tea on the eighteenth.
We will also be celebrating our anniversary on the seventeenth. It is a special one as the church is in it's fiftieth year. We are so thankful for God's wonderful grace. The original pastor was here for twenty four years.
We are so excited about the opportunity God has given us. I want to give an invitation to any who may not have a local church they attend. Until next time - God Bless
